While Dayia is the Sun God, they are very hands off with the knightibranches. They don’t fully understand why they do things. The last time they intervened in their lives they burned their crops to the ground. So instead they let their mate, Luna, do most of the direct communication.

Luna loves the knightibranches dearly. So much so that she often drops in one settlements to visit and communicate with them in person. It’s said if an old wise snail visits your community from a far away land it may be Luna in disguise. Often times these travelers are treated well—but if she is turned away she may be less inclined to give them good luck and good fortune…

Young Knightibranchs are taught to respect the helmet they were given, even if it wasn’t the one they wanted. Saint, a young Knightibranch, was so upset about the mask he was given he tore it off and smashed it with a rock. The next night he had a dream, visited by Vata. Vata showed no anger, but simply smiled at Saint. He awoke to find his mask unbroken next to him—with a small hammer etched into the side—the sign of Vata—giving him a reason to see the special uniqueness of his mask.

Every plant is created as the kin of Aina, that she has given to the knightibranches to help them flourish. To show their gratitude every summer, at the start of the harvest, they hold a special festival in her name. Using the river or ocean to send offers to her.

Even though Dayia and Luna helped the first Knightibranch settle down, they still struggled to have enough food for their groups. They went through months of famine and hardship. After awhile their eldest saw a vision of a brown/creamy white snail smiling upon them, cupping their face with warmth. Followed by a vision of a nearby red flower to plant. The next day the knightibranches planted the flowers by their crops and they finally flourished! Since then they often praise Marigold for her assistance.

Cyclus is known as the party god in conjunction with being the god of seasons. While he lets Aina have the summer festival, he has a winter, spring, and fall festival in his name. They thank him for continuing the seasons by partying up in his name. Knightibranchs even do a few small quirks each season! In spring they play pranks on one another, in the fall they make each other a craft, and in the winter they have snowball fights.

Kai is known as a no crap taken kinda god. He only respects the bravest and strongest knights. Though he hates none of them. He believes hardship builds strength and often will not intervene when requested. This was broken for the first time with a young Knightibranch named River, since the parents revered Kai greatly. However, River was seen as a disappointment to their parents and their community. They were a runt, a snail born with no water mutations at all. And nearly half the size of an average elemental snail. However, he didn’t let this tear him down. Ultimately he left and sought out the world on his own. But he struggled. So he did the only thing he knew—asking Kai for help. For the first few days Kai scoffed at him, feeling it wasn’t worth his time. But after a week the young River had managed to keep himself alive even while alone. But the world and its horrors were up against him. Finally one day River saw a massive Golden Koi fish in the river, beckoning him forward. River, swallowed his fear, and slowly walked towards the fish. The fish simply nodded and said “By my power, you shall survive”. River didn’t understand this until a small pearl was ejected from the fish’s mouth—that floated and connected to his chest. In moments he transformed. He maintained his size but gained all water mutations known at the time. At this point he knew it had to be Kai. He opened his eyes to thank the fish, only to see the fish disappeared. He whispered a soft thanks before continuing his journey, until he found another small community to join.

Love knows no bounds with the knightibranches. Pragma rules over love in their world. It’s said that if lovers are at a body of water and smell roses, that means Pragma is blessing the union.

Death is scary for all beings, even for Knightibranches. Quietus is a quiet being that also doesn’t interact with the living much, as he prefers the dead. It’s said that when a Knightibranch dies he takes away their pain, leading them gently into the afterlife to join their other fallen kin.

Knightibranches understand that death is just as much apart of life as life itself. But they do still honor Zest in many ways. One such way is by celebrating birthdays in their honor!

Knightibranchs often use their dreams to help make hard decisions. Visage is the god they pray to, and speak with in their dreams about something they need help with. Whether it be life partners, changing masks, leaving their homes, etc. Their guidance is believed to be sacred and a gift given to help guide them in their lives.

There once was a Knightibranch that held resentment towards other snails as he was a Pure. And had no mutations at all. She resented this and pleaded to the gods to hear her prayer. After several nights, Tsunami took pity on her. When the snail awoke she released she had gained a mutation. A simple pupil change but she still felt amazing. The next day she woke up with another one, this time a mail tail. She was over the moon! As the days went on she kept getting more and more mutations. Becoming less herself. After the 7th mutation she realized her mistake. Once again she begged the gods to take back their gift—but she received no response for several days. Eventually, when she no longer resembled a Knightibranch Tsunami undid her changes, but left her with this warning. For if she starts resenting again the mutations will return and not stop. In time she learns to love herself for who she is not forcing herself to be someone she’s not.

The Sun (Dayia) & Moon (Luna) Snail Gods approached the first Knightibranch and adorned them with armor, and assisted them in setting up the first establishment. Taught them how to make armor and survive the new world.

Armor is buried with the passed on Knightibranch. Legends speak of the soul connected to the remnants of metal/material. If not buried, locals have stories of missing food and misplaced items.

When snails see a monarch butterfly they know Dayia heard their prayer. The appearance of a dragonfly shows that Luna heard them in the evening.

A snail named Deaux once tried to reach the gods.The knightibranches had several weeks of a drought and felt they weren’t being heard from their gods. So Deaux decided to take matters into his own hands. He borrowed feathers from a kind Wing and sought out an invention to bring himself to the gods. On the day of his travels there was lightening storms but he headed out anyway. Stories say they never saw him again but no armor ever dropped from the sky. But it rained the next day and snails believe Deaux became the minor rain god that ended the drought.

Unlike humans, when snails see a rainbow they believe it's Kai painting the sky. It's a sign of good times to come.

Eating a living creature of any kind is believed to be ingesting a part of their soul. When eating, snails often drink from a sacred pool blessed by the gods to cleanse their stomachs.

Every star in the sky is the soul of a Knightibranch looking upon the kin. Wishing on a shooting star is a prayer to a loved one for something important—not just something one wants.

Many Knightibranches whisper about LongLegs. An ancient species that used to rule the planet before they drove themselves to extinction. There are many many stories about them.

Be kind to the planet they live on. If the LongLegs could drive themselves to extinction so could they. So they thank the planet anytime they use items, eat plants, drink water, etc. Often with the phrase "Glory to Marigold."

The LongLegs had these materials they used that released large black gases into the air that polluted the world. They had harnessed aspects of the gods like lightning, the summer heat, and the winds among other things. LongLegs tried too hard to be Gods and faced the consquences. Knightibranches often tell this to young ones to remind them to not undo the work that the gods do for them.

LongLegs treated the Knightibranchs' ancestors and other beings as below them. This led them to extinction. Knightibranches are taught young that no one is to be treated as above another no matter their differences.

Knightibranchs believe that items from these LongLegs could be cursed or spoiled from the past connected to them. So many avoid materials such as technology, plastics, and other LongLegs created products.
